About the Journal

Focus and Scope

Editorial line

  • L'Atelier conceives of itself as a review in critical studies serving as a space where critical methods may be worked out and reflected upon.

  • L'Atelier aspires to be an intellectual site where interpretative activity is questioned, put to the test together with the creative works it applies to. It aims at promoting the circulation of articles where interpretative theory does not apply as if it pre-existed, but literally develops with its object. It wishes to put to the fore approaches which reflect on critical practices and their causes as well as approaches pertaining to modes of representation, intertextuality and intermediality.

Articles submitted may relate to any theoretical domain, as long as the critical gesture matches the requirements of meta-critical consistency and commitment of the review.

Peer Review Process

Papers submitted to the journal will be anonymously evaluated by two referees.

According to the referees' recommendations and  assessment, the editorial board will come to the following decision:

- Publish the paper

- Ask for revisions to meet the journal's expectations

- Ask for a third assessment

- Reject the paper

Authors will receive feedback of the final decision within two to three months after submission.

After acceptance, authors will be asked to correct or review their text within the time limit allowed before final review (typography, lay out...) and the publication online.

Publication Frequency

L’Atelier is published twice a year (one issue per semester).

Since all the papers are meant to make up a consistent whole, they will be published together in the same issue.

No paper will be evaluated, corrected and published online irrespective of the overall agenda.

Access to the review is not restricted.

Users are nevertheless invited to register as readers for free to be notified of the review's news (call for papers, new issue, ...)
